Zoomarine is the best-known family day out in the Algarve, in Guia, a few minutes from Albufeira. One ticket covers two things you would normally pay for separately: a water park with a wave beach, slides and pools, and a theme park with dolphin, bird of prey and sea lion presentations.
The day tends to be built around the presentations — times are posted at the entrance on the day itself — and the rest fills itself in between the water, the aquarium, the 4D cinema and the funfair area, with its carousel, pirate ship and Ferris wheel. There are restaurants inside the park and parking is free.
Two details that matter if you are travelling with small children: anyone under 1.00 m tall goes free, and there are children's pools and shaded areas to rest between attractions. It is worth arriving early — anyone wanting to see it all at a relaxed pace tends to prefer the two-day ticket.
To get in the water with the dolphins you book Dolphin Emotions separately — and that ticket already includes park entry. There are three programmes: the *Encounter*, in shallow water, around 60 minutes, from age 6; the *Premium*, around 90 minutes with 35 of them in the water, from age 8 and requiring you to be able to swim; and the *Exclusive*, the same length as the Premium, but with the session reserved for your group alone — nobody else in the water. Anyone coming along without getting in the water has their own ticket and watches from an area beside the lagoon.
And the price follows the difference. The Encounter and the Premium are priced per person: up to €193.90 per participant depending on the date — several times the price of a standard ticket — with the full day in the park already included. The Exclusive does not compare with those, because it is priced per session: €1152 with two participants, and each extra person adds €232, up to five.

The park is open from March to November, from 10:00 — closing time changes with the season (between 17:00 and 19:00). Children under 1.00 m tall go free (they are measured at the entrance, with shoes on) but must still be included in the booking. Above 1.00 m it is age that decides, and only age: junior ticket up to age 10, standard from 11 to 64, senior from 65. Under-12s must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Full swimwear is required in the water areas. Umbrellas, glass objects, balls and pets are not allowed — except assistance dogs, with the documentation required by law.
