About this activity

A walking tour just for your group through Albufeira's old town: the old streets, three viewpoints over the beaches and the bay, and a tasting of local products with a drink at the end. Two hours on foot, at your own pace.

Albufeira's old town is best seen on foot — and it is far better seen with someone who knows what they are showing you. This walking tour is **private**: the guide is yours alone, there is no one else's schedule to keep, and the pace is set by your group.

We start at the Bus Terminal on Avenida da Liberdade and climb through the old streets up to the **Pau da Bandeira viewpoint**, where the beaches, the fishing harbour and the whole bay open up below. Along the way come the main square, the shopping street, the centuries-old churches and the **Peneco Tunnel**, the passage that leads straight out to the sea and the picture everyone takes home.

At the end there is a **tasting of typical Algarve products**, with a drink included — the right moment for the questions you saved up along the way.

The guide speaks **Portuguese, English and Spanish**, and the price is for the group: up to 12 people pay the same. If you would rather be picked up at your accommodation, tell us — the service is available at extra cost.

This excursion was over our expectations, Alison is a great guide and very knowledgeable about the area.

We were taken to parts of Albufeira you wouldn't even know existed without the help of the tour guide, whose name was Eddie. A very friendly person, who took an interest in everything and where we were from. A highly recommended tour if u want to get away from the usual touristic part of albufeira.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the price per person?

No. The price is for the group, not per head — it is the same whether a few of you go or the full group.

What languages is the activity in?

The crew or guide speak Portuguese, English and Spanish.

What time should I be at the meeting point?

We suggest 10 minutes before your booked time, at the agreed spot. There is no desk and no check-in: it is a guide waiting for you, and those 10 minutes are enough to meet and set off on time. If anything changes, we are the ones who call you — so leave a number we can reach on the day. There are morning and mid-afternoon departures.

Can we change the route or the stops?

Up to a point. The itinerary described is the best round we can do in the time available, and some things are not up to us: traffic and parking in the old town, the opening hours of the places we visit, and streets that are not always open to vehicles. Within that the tour is yours — if there is something you want to see, tell the guide right at the start and he will tell you what fits without spoiling the rest.

Will we be walking a lot?

There is always a part on foot — a market, an old town, a winery, a viewpoint — at a strolling pace, with time to stop and take photos. Expect uneven cobbles, some uphill and steps at several stops. If anyone in your group finds walking difficult, tell us before booking: some stops can be shortened and others cannot.
