About this activity
A private walk through Albufeira Old Town that ends at a table on Peneco Beach: a traditional Algarve lunch or dinner at Roca Beach, with cataplana or seafood rice.
There are two ways to get to know Albufeira: on foot through its streets, and at the table. This experience brings the two together, with a guide for your group only.
We start in the lanes of the Old Town, among whitewashed houses and azulejo tiles. We pass the main square and the last surviving stretch of the old castle walls, and stop at three viewpoints over four beaches, the marina and the fishing harbour. At the end, the Peneco Tunnel takes us from the town straight to the sea.
On the other side of the tunnel, your table is already booked at Roca Beach, on the sand, and the meal begins. First, Portuguese starters; then the dish people come to the Algarve to taste: cataplana, opened at the table, or seafood rice — traditional dishes made for sharing. With it, Algarve wine; to finish, an Algarve dessert and coffee. Seafood-free and vegetarian options are available if you ask when booking.
Your guide stays with you until coffee. With the optional transfer, the experience runs door to door: pick-up from your accommodation and return after the meal. Lunch or dinner: you choose when you book.

Frequently Asked Questions
What languages is the activity in?
The crew or guide speak Portuguese, English and Spanish.
Is the price per person?
Partly. The guide is a fixed price for the group and the meal is per person — so the total grows with the number of people at the table. The group price and the cost of each extra person are shown just below the price, in the booking box.
Can we change the route or the stops?
Up to a point. The itinerary described is the best round we can do in the time available, and some things are not up to us: traffic and parking in the old town, the opening hours of the places we visit, and streets that are not always open to vehicles. Within that the tour is yours — if there is something you want to see, tell the guide right at the start and he will tell you what fits without spoiling the rest.
Will we be walking a lot?
There is always a part on foot — a market, an old town, a winery, a viewpoint — at a strolling pace, with time to stop and take photos. Expect uneven cobbles, some uphill and steps at several stops. If anyone in your group finds walking difficult, tell us before booking: some stops can be shortened and others cannot.
