Get ready to get soaked and laugh a lot: the jet boat is one of the most fun ways to see the Albufeira coast. Among caves and cliffs, the skipper opens the throttle and pulls radical manoeuvres — 180° and 360° spins, slides and power breaks that get everyone screaming on board.
There are two lengths. Thirty minutes is the right dose to try it and see what it is about; the hour takes you further along the coast, with more time among the rock formations. Either way there are 12 people at most on board — this is not an excursion boat.

Check-in is 40 minutes before departure, not the usual 30. The boat takes up to 12 people and you meet at the Gate 4 Café, in Marina de Albufeira. There is also a private ride option, just for your group.

The crew or guide speak Portuguese and English.
Will I get wet?
You will, and that is part of it. The 180° and 360° turns, the drifts and the hard stops throw water on board — count on arriving wet. Protect your phone or camera, or leave them ashore.
Can children come along?
They can, from age 6, and always accompanied by an adult. It is worth knowing what it is: the boat jumps, brakes hard and soaks everyone. Most children love it — anyone who dislikes a fright is the one who will have a bad time.
Is this safe?
Yes. The boat carries the required safety equipment and life jackets are compulsory for everyone on board.
What should I wear?
Comfortable clothes, expecting to get wet: swimwear, plus water shoes or sandals you do not mind soaking.
